Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Whenever I get around to think about imitation; it always carries 2 meanings for me:- 1) referring to goods that are not genuine and 2) to imitate someone to the point of being rather repulsive.

In both cases, imitation is best put down as a shadow of the real thing.

In 1), the original manufacturers are certainly not amused with such antics as the imitations can rake in much profit as well as they [the fakes] are considerably cheaper and easier to get.

Yes, yes, I know that children are not repulsive but entertaining for others to watch but what about the grown-ups? It’s like having fans following a superstar everywhere. They’ll probably lick your boots if you tell them to.

Imitation has such a negative term, don’t you think?
