Drama in the Classroom

A teacher once said, “Copying is a universal problem. It cannot be fully eradicated even at the higher level.”

I believe him.

Exams can be a frustration for students and teachers alike. The usual copying and warning will ensue.

Once, I managed to stop a class from copying. Boy, were the students floored!

It happened like this:-

During an exam, students were trying to copy sneakily, openly/whispering as much as they dared. No shushing or threats were able to make any impact till a student complained that student A was copying from student B. (Athena must have given me great wisdom that day.)

I commented that copying meaninglessly is just nonsense as their so-called ‘answers’ are incorrect (the students in that class are of low proficiency).

The class was so stunned that they desisted after that. Some even managed to find humor in that after a pause.
