Drama in the Classroom

A sample of a heart-to-heart letter from a teacher to a columnist.

Dear Mary,
Can you please tell me how to shut my students up and also make them do their work at the same time?

Desperate teacher

Dear desperate teacher,
It sounds like a high task but don’t worry. You can now tell your students to do their work with their lips clamped. Direct the students to use their free hand (not their writing hand) to hold their mouths like a clip. It will come with guaranteed results and no noise as a bonus for the teacher.

Mary
